Listener Questions #1

themenasaur  asked:

“I’m loving Point Mystic so far! It’s hitting that same chord that the PNWS podcasts and Lore hit with me, where it’s creepy, but not scary enough to make me want to stop listening, which I appreciate from the media I consume. I’m sort of confused about the dragon scale episode, though? Where does that fit in? You guys are doing great work!”

#TryPod Bonus: Point Mystic Presents: The Dark Tome

We’re hard at work on our next chapter of Point Mystic, but I want to share something special with you.  During the month of March, Point Mystic and hundreds of our fellow podcasts such as Welcome to Night Vale, Criminal, and Fresh Air would like to ask you to share the gift of your favorite podcasts with friends and family.

Believe it or not, a lot of people have never heard of podcasts or don’t know how to subscribe and listen to them. We’d like you to show them. Show them what you love. Think about, what is the perfect show for them — It doesn’t have to be this podcast to be the right podcast.

We are all supporting this together, and as our contribution to #TryPod, I’d like to recommend to you and your friends one of my favorite podcasts The Dark Tome, produced by Fred Greenhalgh and Bill Dufris. It’s part of the Wondery network of podcasts.

It’s the story of a magical book that transports you into the infinite stories it holds, and those stories can be rather dangerous. If you loved our pilot episode featuring Joe Hill and the world of his novel The Fireman, you are are going to love their pilot episode exploring Joe Hill’s horror story “The Devil on the Staircase.”

Show your friends the world of podcasts, and tweet at us at @PointMystic with the hashtag #TryPod and let us know what you recommended to your friends. Our Point Mystic community would love to hear it too. Thanks for listening!

Point Mystic: White Rabbit Parts 1 & 2 Remastered

Just a note that I have posted remastered versions of White Rabbit parts 1 and 2 to the podcast RSS feed. These include improved mastering of the audio and music and a few (very) subtle changes to the story. The recently released Part 3 has not changed.

Point Mystic is recorded in binaural 3D stereo. If you haven’t heard Point Mystic with a good pair of earphones – now is the time.

I wanted to share some of the tweet love since Point Mystic launched.

Thank you so much, from Christopher, Marguerite, Fox, and Agatha (the mystery dog).

Point Mystic Launches October 31

I’m excited to announce that the podcast series I worked all through this year’s Clarion West Write-a-thon will be launching this October.

Point Mystic – a radio show in search of stories behind the magic, the mystery, the unexplained.

The teaser episode that will become available October 14th features appearances by Clarion West instructor alumni, Joe Hill, and MTV’s Martha Quinn, in support of his new novel The Fireman.

The first season launches October 31.
